Just like real poker...
Carrie and I went to the Las Vegas Fantastik Indoor Swap Meet today. It’s a permanent indoor bazar for jewelry, clothes, herbal remedies, artwork, toys, antiques, food, etc. We found a game room with old video and pinball machines, including a World Poker Tour pinball machine. It was just like a real poker tournament with cards and flops and pictures of WPT hosts Vince Van Patten, the late Mike Sexton, and former host Courtney Friel. Of course, I challenged Carrie to a game.
I played every bit as good as I did in college. My skills hadn’t seemed to have diminished in the least, with beautiful saves, aiming and knocking down cards, and multiple perfect shots up the ramps for bonus points. I sure played a mean pinball! After the third and final ball, I had racked up almost 5 million points to Carrie’s 500,000. I assured her not to feel bad. After all, I’d been playing poker a lot longer than she had.
On Carrie’s third and final ball, she hit something—we’re not sure what—but whatever it was earned her multiple multi-ball rallies where she had up to four balls on the table at once. Multiple times! Her play seemed to go on forever while Mike and Vince cheered her on. Once she was done… well, you can see the scores above.
Yup, just like a real poker tournament.
